Planning for a day at a Disney park can feel overwhelming. Each season comes with a unique list of necessary items. However, I have found that these 10 items are essential no matter what the season or the weather may be.
- Water- throw at least one bottle into your bag. We carry more in the stroller, but when waiting in lines it is nice to be able to have water when someone inevitably gets thirsty.
- Snacks- again, throw a few in the bag you are carrying. We keep more in the stroller, but the one time I didn’t have a snack in the bag the line we were in took a long time and we ended up with some hangry kids, which could have been avoided had I thrown some granola bars or goldfish into the bag. Check out the post on Easy Snack Ideas!
- Ziploc bags- I keep these in every bag I carry because they always come in handy. You can throw your phone into one for a water ride, use it for leftovers, carry that special leaf collection that your 2 year old doesn’t want to lose, put wet clothes in, the list goes on and on.
- Band-aids- we actually pack a small travel first aid kit that includes band-aids, Neosporen, hand sanitizer, floss and hair bands. But, with little kids band-aids are a must have.
- Wipes- even if your kids are potty trained, having a pack of wipes is helpful for sticky hands, spills, faces, etc.
- Hand Sanitizer-with everything that you and your kids will touch throughout the parks, you’ll be happy to have some of this tucked in your bag.
- Extra shirt-it will take up a little extra space, but an extra shirt can save a day (and some money!). I hope you won’t need it, but it won’t hurt to have them tucked in the bottom of the bag.
- Sunblock-no matter the season or weather, tuck some sunblock in your bag. A sunburn is a quick (and uncomfortable) way to end a park day early.
- Paper towel-napkins would also work, but I find that paper towel is a bit more durable. Just fold up a few pieces and tuck them into one of those Ziploc bags. There isn’t a day that we don’t grab a piece for some reason or another.
- Pen-always useful. I’m constantly surprised with how frequently a pen is needed wherever I go.
Just a quick addition to this list; buy the popcorn bucket! It was one of the best purchases we made. $18 for whichever style you choose (each park offers different options) with $2 refills. Totally worth it!
