There is no wrong age for a trip to Disney World, however, it is good to be prepared with some extra information before you head out to the parks. There are many rides in all four parks that everyone in your family will be able to ride no matter what their height is. However, there are some rides that do have height requirements, which you will see listed below. This wasn’t an issue for our oldest child. He had no problem sticking to the rides that didn’t have a height requirement when he was younger. Our littlest adventurer, however, was not so cool with the restrictions. She had us measuring her daily as we prepared for our last trip. She desperately wanted to make it to 38″, the requirement for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Unfortunately, she wasn’t quite tall enough, but in true Disney style, she was given a voucher to return to the fast pass line when she was tall enough.
What to Do If Someone in Your Family Isn't Tall Enough to Ride
Rider Swap is a great option for your family if you have a traveler who is too small for certain rides. We tried it on a few rides that we had fast pass reservations. Before we swiped our Magic Bands we told the cast member that we wanted to rider swap. We told them who was riding first and the then scanned second rider’s Magic Band separately. The second rider is given a window of a time to use the rider swap option. The amount of time will be shown in the Disney Experience App. For Seven Dwarfs Mine Train my son and I went through the Fast Pass line, while my husband and daughter rode the carousel. When we finished, my husband scanned and he and my son went through the Fast Pass line. What’s great is that our son got to go on the ride twice! We didn’t try the rider swap option for any rides that we didn’t have a fast pass, but I believe that the second rider group will be given a fast pass to use within 1 hour of the Magic Band being scanned. It will show up in your My Disney Experience App as a Fast Pass. The first rider group would have to stand in the stand-by line
